Space Agencies

The first space agency was “Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization - CSIRO” in Australia, founded in 1926, the second was “Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial – INTA” in Spain, in 1942, the third – “Institute for Space Applications and Remote Sensing - ISARS” in Greece and “Russian Federal Space Agency - ROSCOSMOS” in Russian in 1955 and about 1958 the USA founded “National Aeronautics and Space Administration – NASA”.

The development in founding space agencies all over the world is showered in the article, when its showered a graphic. Until 2011, we have about 60 nations with their own space agencies, 30 of which were created in two decades (1991-2010). The creation of space agencies grew at a rate of 0.88 per year between 1955 and 1990, but between 1991 and 2002 was recorded an increase of 1.5 per year.

The last space agency founded was Mexican Space Agency, Sri Lanka Space Agency and United Kingdom Space Agency (old British National Space Center founded in 1985), all founded in 2010.
